One of the cool cricketing fact is that India is the only country to
win 60 Over, 50 Over & 20 Over cricket world cup. No country has yet
won all the 3 formats of world cup.
1st One day international match played between Australia vs England on
5th January 1971, that match played of 40 overs with 8 balls per over. After 4
years, 7th June 1975 first cricket world cup was organized in England of 60
overs format with 6 balls per over. Since then every 4 years around cricket
world cup event gets organized.
First 3 world cups played of 60 overs format. India won their 1st world
cup in 1983 under Kapil Dev's captaincy which was 3rd world cup. From1987, 60
overs reduced to 50 overs and still now every 4 years ICC have been organizing
50 overs world cup.
On 2nd April 2011 after 28 years of long wait
India won their third world cup which is 50 overs world cup under Dhoni's
captaincy and Sachin Tendulkar was finally able to fulfill his world cup dream.
No other team ever win all three formats
world cup. Before 1983 West Indies won 1975 and 1979 world cup which was 60
overs world cup. West Indies also won T20 world cup two times in 2012 and 2016
but yet to win the 50 overs world cup and if West Indies win any 50 overs world
cup, then West Indies will be second team to win all the three formats of
Cricket World Cup after India.
